My name is Matt Taylor, I am a YouTuber, Food Blogger, Video Producer, outdoor lover, popcorn devourer, cooking extraordinaire, Netflix watching, and creative date enthusiast. I created this blog to be the ultimate date idea resource. Having been on 100s of dates, I thought it would be fun to share my ideas and experiences, and hopefully help others along the way. I wrote a book called 101 Creative Dates: ideas, tips, and personal experiences from the life of a hopeless romantic, which this blog 101 Creative Dates, is based on. All the date ideas from the book eventually will be here on my blog. But don’t let that stop you from buying the book. 🙂 Either for yourself or for someone you know.

Why Creative Date Ideas?
Many of you find it hard to think up new and exciting ideas for dates. I don’t blame you. It’s not the easiest thing to do, especially in our “Netflix and Chill” kind of world. And no, that does not count as a creative date. People appreciate a bit of creativity now and then, so why not surprise your next date with something different? That’s where this blog comes in. What will you get out of it? Well, hopefully, a whole lot of inspiration, and maybe even a laugh or two at my expense.
But seriously, want some cool date ideas that aren’t very expensive? I got you covered. Maybe this is your first time going out, and you want to make a good impression by doing something different? I got you covered. Are you married and lucky enough to escape the kids for one evening and want to impress your spouse with something different, something unique, and maybe even something magical? Covered. Bored of all the same old date ideas? I. Have. Got. You. Covered.
Dating Inspiration
I was inspired to write this book while lamenting, moping, pouting, over yet another unsuccessful attempt at romance. Let me break it down for you, give you a bit of insight into my dating experience over the past twenty years. While I have great creative date ideas, they don’t seem to work for me. And by “work,” I mean they haven’t led me to The One, yet.
Although I am not a serial dater—despite what some of my good friends might think—girls seem to evade my ingenious attempts to woo them over. Or at least the girls that I’m interested in. That is the clincher; finding that mutual interest, that click, that person that you can talk to for hours without getting bored, and when you are done, are left wanting more.
Creative Date Ideas a Natural Fit for Me
Getting unique with dates was a natural path for me. I’ve always had creativity in my life, seeing as I come from a family of artists, wood-workers, writers, and more. Also, the imaginative side of me gets to regularly come out through my YouTube cooking channel, In the Kitchen with Matt and my food blog. That one’s a lot of fun (and is a great conversation starter). I guess what I’m saying is that all that influence and experience in my life has made me the creative person I am today.
The dates in this blog are designed for people to have FUN. That’s the whole idea, right? Having fun while you get to know someone, and having that fun lead to something more. Since I’m a guy, I’m writing from a man’s perspective of planning and executing a date, although I realize that in this day and age, anyone could pull it off. With that in mind, are you ready to change how you see dating? Good. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride.
The adventure begins.
