Fortune cookie surprise gift idea

Fortune Cookie Surprise

Looking for a fun, creative, and unique gift idea for that special someone? How about creating a fortune cookie surprise for them! This idea is sure to impress them and win you major bonus points. And let’s be honest we could all use some extra bonus points.

This idea isn’t a whole date itself but can be accompanied by many of the dates outlined here on this blog. First, you type up your own fortune and place it in a fortune cookie. You can buy these at various stores or you can make your own. If you don’t have a recipe for fortune cookies in your favorite recipe book, just look one up online—you’ll find plenty of recipes. Then just gently remove the fortune from inside the cookie and replace it with your own.

After you have your cookie and the special note inside, slyly give it to the waiter and have it delivered at the end of the dinner. This is not my personal idea, but it is one that I have heard about a lot, and have seen in various movies/TV shows, and couldn’t help but include it.

If you aren’t going to a Chinese food restaurant then get takeout and smoothly switch the fortune cookies at dinner. Maybe while your significant other gets up to do something, you could switch the cookies. To make it easy you could just present a plate with unwrapped fortune cookies on it. Take your cookie first, make sure you take the right one, and NOT the one you want to give, that has the special note inside. Who doesn’t like fortune cookies?

You can write all kinds of different things on that little note inside the fortune. Something simple but classic like, “I love you.” Or maybe you want to propose? “Will you marry me?” The note possibilities are endless.

What you need for this fortune cookie surprise creative gift idea:

You don’t need much and the little expense that it takes will be worth it. Just type up the fortune on your computer and print it out and put it in the cookie. The delivery of the cookie might be tricky, but that is part of the fun and creativity of the idea. If you are at a restaurant I am sure the waiter or waitress will be more then willing to get in on your little scheme.

My commentary on this idea:

This probably isn’t something you would do early on in a relationship, although it can be done as a joke, to get your date to laugh, or for some other fun occasion. I have heard of people doing this for proposals, which would be great. It can be romantic or silly, it is up to you. Like I mentioned above, the possibilities are endless.
