Go Kart Racing

For some reason, small motor vehicles are entertaining to adults and not just kids. You would think that driving your much bigger and more powerful car would be enough fun for you, but no, go-karts are where it’s at. I think adults like go kart racing because it allows them to be young again; kids like them because they get to drive and feel like adults. This is fun for all ages, whether you are taking your kids for a ride, want to do it alone, or do it on a date.

Unless you own your own go-kart, you’ll probably want to plan something else after you’re done go kart racing, as the races don’t usually last that long. You may find a location that not only offers go kart racing, but also has other games that you can play, like a fun center for example.

Do you feel the need for speed? There are other types of indoor tracks where the go-karts go much faster. Here in Phoenix, there is a place called K-1 Speed, where the karts can get up to as much as 45mph. That is pretty darn fast in a go-kart.

What you need for this go kart racing group date idea:

All you need to do is look online to see where the nearest go-karting place is and make sure it’s open when you want to go. There are both indoor and outdoor tracks depending on where you go.

My experience with this date:

I’ve gone go-karting several times. I grew up riding go karts with my friends. Unfortunately, one time I slipped off the back of one and broke my collarbone. Not very fun! Of course, it was my fault, I shouldn’t have been on the back of it, to begin with, plus it was dark outside.

A few years ago, I took a girl to a fun center that had a driving range, an arcade, and go-karts. We went to the driving range first, where I showed her how to hit a golf ball. I am not a huge golfer but it is still fun to go to the driving range once in a while. My date didn’t really know how to hit a golf ball so I spent some time showing her how to hold the club and how to swing it. She did pretty well for her first time, all things considering.

The go kart race

And then we tested our mad go kart racing skills on the track. The kids we raced on the track didn’t know what hit them. It was fun climbing into the kart, gripping the steering wheel, looking around at the other drivers. My date was smiling and ready to try and beat me. These kids were about to be taken down.

Then the lights counted down to green and we were off. I expertly drove around the track avoided the big tires that made up the barriers on each side, all the while keeping an eye on my date. Then she passed me, no you don’t, come back here. I crept up and passed her. We continued passing each other during the whole race. These kids never knew what hit them.

Alright, fine. I’m pretty sure we both lost to them. But the date was so much fun, all the same. So if you are in the mood for some fun, grab your date, get a group of couples together and head to the track for some exhilarating go kart racing.
