Horse and Carriage Ride

Horse and Carriage Ride

Probably one of the most romantic rides ever is a horse and carriage ride through the country or around the city at night.

These are often really popular in large cities during the Christmas season. They aren’t very cheap, but the expense is worth it. There is something magical about riding in a horse-driven carriage or buggy. The clattering of the hooves on the pavement and the man in the top hat makes it feel like a fairytale.

If you like fairytales and money is no problem when it comes to your special someone, then you definitely should take them on a carriage ride. Can’t you see it? You put your arm around her, look up at the stars, while every passerby stares at you in envy—a wonderful way to share an evening. Oh, and maybe get a few kisses along the way, too.

What you need for this horse and carriage ride romantic date idea:

You do not need to plan ahead much for this date unless the location you go to has reservations; all you need to do is show up to where the horse and buggy is. You could make inquiries to see where the nearest horse and carriage ride is to your location. For example here in Arizona, there is one in Flagstaff called Merry-Go-Round Carriage Rides.

This would be really nice to do in December, so you can see all the Christmas lights and decorations. Cities like New York and San Francisco stick out in my mind for great places to do one. Temple Square in Salt Lake City is another great location for a horse and carriage ride. Make sure to dress appropriately for the weather.

My commentary on this romantic date idea:

This date is one that has been used many times in the movies. My friend just went on one and he couldn’t talk enough about how awesome it was. Once again this date is out of the ordinary; normally you would drive around, find a place to park, then walk to shops, etc. What could be better than scouting out the shops from inside a carriage?

It is also a great excuse for cuddling. If you are with your spouse or significant other then I suppose you will already be cuddling, but if you haven’t gotten to that stage yet with your date, here is a great opportunity to take it to the next step.
