neighborhood flower bouquet gift idea young man giving a girl flowers

Neighborhood Flower Bouquet Gift Idea

If you want to bring your date flowers maybe you can do something extra special and make a neighborhood flower bouquet. I got the idea from the movie Phenomenon. In it, John Travolta is on his way to the house of the girl that he likes; he stops along the way and picks different species of flowers on the way from his house to hers. All the different flowers made a really spectacular bouquet. This creative gift idea is pretty simple. You walk your neighborhood, your backyard, your friends’ backyard and pick flowers. Put together a bouquet and give it to your date, spouse, significant other, etc.

You don’t have to spend tons of money on flowers when you can pick them locally. Granted, there may not be a lot of flowers growing in your area, and you shouldn’t go stealing your neighbors’ flowers. But I am willing to bet if you ask people if you could pick just one flower and that it was for a good cause, you could put together a pretty nice homemade bouquet.

The idea here is the time and effort involved to make this wonderful gift. It is easy to go to the local fower shop and shell out a bunch of cash for some roses or daisies or whatever else you might get. But this idea takes time, maybe even some excellent negotiation skills, a bit of dexterity with the hands, and some clippers. How could the person receiving this gift, not like it???

What you need for this creative gift idea:

First, you need to have a neighborhood or two that you can walk down and find the flowers. Maybe you have a best friend who’s spouse has an amazing flower garden in the front or backyard. Maybe you remember a stretch of road that has wonderful wildflowers growing. You get the idea, time to get out there and scavenge for those flowers. Something nice to tie them together, like a ribbon, is a great idea. It would be nice if the flowers happened to be her favorite type or at least some of her favorite colors. Make the ribbon her favorite color, at the very least. Again paying attention to details will win major points in the end.

My experience with this neighborhood flower bouquet gift idea:

Quite a while ago I had taken this cute girl out a handful of times. I was really starting to like her so I wanted to do something nice for her on our next date. Flowers were the answer, but being me, I couldn’t take the easy way out and go to the flower shop. So, I walked into my backyard and picked them out of my mom’s flower garden. I got permission first of course. Because there is no telling how mad people will get if you go rogue and snip away at someone’s garden uninvited. As for my mom, she wants me to get married, so there wasn’t a problem when it came to clipping flowers. She even helped me trim them, so they looked all nice and perfect, then found a ribbon for me to use. Ah, isn’t that sweet? Mom’s are cool like that. Thanks, mom!

I got all spruced up for my date and grabbed the homemade bouquet and picked up my date. I kept them hidden behind my back as is the custom. After opening the door I produced the creative gift and gave it to her. Her eyes widened in surprise and she took the flowers. Oh yeah, I knew it. Another very successful creative gift idea.
