Provide Service

If you and your date are in a “giving” mood, you could do a service activity together. Some ideas on how to provide service could be volunteering at a soup kitchen at Christmas time, or maybe you could set up a free car wash for a few hours.

You could go to one of your neighbor’s houses, maybe an elderly couple’s home, and do yardwork for them. And then afterward have a water fight to clean off.

A place like Feed My Starving Children is excellent for doing some goodwill. Service activities are always really fun for those involved, and no matter how messy or tired you get, you always wind up feeling great inside afterward. And that is what it is all about, provide service to someone in need, feel amazing afterward.

What you need for this provide service date idea:

You don’t need much for this to be successful, only your willingness to serve others and your time. And whatever supplies you’ll need, depending on the project you’ll be doing. Just Serve is a great place to find service projects.

Pay close attention to your neighbors and neighborhood you can probably find someone in need. If you attend a church there are probably people that you can find there that need help.

If you like animals, maybe you could volunteer for a day at a humane society. There are so many possibilities.

My commentary on this creative date idea:

In my lifetime, I have had the opportunity to do a lot of service projects in group settings, and there was usually a girl there that I had some interest in beyond friendship. That’s not the main reason why I was there, in case you’re wondering if I’m just a womanizer. Flirting while doing good to others is just an added perk, right?

During one group project, in particular, everyone involved had a smashing good time and the recipients of the service were thrilled.  I remember going to an elderly woman’s house and our group picked weeds, mowed her front yard, pruned the trees, raked leaves and ground clutter, among other things.

Afterward, the yard looked immaculate and the woman was so grateful. I felt pretty good after that, cute girls or not.
