Say what? Spin the bottle? Why yes, it’s that game. You know, the one you secretly wished to be able to play when you were thirteen, the one that may have given you your first awkward kiss.
For a hilarious time and a bit of nostalgia, you could play spin the bottle with your group. This date works well if you are at least somewhat attracted to the girls/guys in the group. It’s also great if you haven’t kissed anyone in a long time, because dang it, sometimes you just need a kiss.
As a bonus, if you learn the proper technique on how to spin the bottle then you can get it to land wherever you want. Meaning you can kiss exactly who you want. Kind of sneaky, I know, but hey, gotta do what you can if you want to kiss the girl.
“There you see her, sitting there across the way, you don’t got a lot to say, but you’re dying to spin the bottle because you want to kiss the girl . . .”
Okay, that is a cheesy song about spin the bottle that sounds exactly like the song from Little Mermaid. How do I know that song, you ask? Because that is one of my favorite Disney movies of all time, and I had a crush on Ariel when I was a kid. No judgments, please—redheads are hot.
What you need for this spin the bottle group date:
You just need a bottle and a place to play. Then gather up all your friends who would be down to play. Maybe you can make dinner together first and play afterward.
My experience with this creative group date idea:
I’ve played this game a bunch of times on group dates. My friends and I coordinated each other’s dates so that we’d be attracted to all girls involved, for obvious reasons. One time, I was able to kiss my friend’s date (who happened to be extremely good looking) like five times.
My date kissed me probably only three times. It was hilarious. Did I mention I was only twelve years old? All right, spin the bottle is meant more to be funny and not a real date to be taken seriously. I guess you really could play this game, but just a warning—everyone will probably laugh at you when you bring it up.
In reality, though, adults need fun like this at times, and if for some reason you do decide to play this game, you probably shouldn’t bring dates, just get a big group of fun guys and girls together who don’t mind this kind of activity.
